These shoes are of a distinctly lower quality than the Steve and Barry's vintage Starbury's. They still look nice, and are decent, but not even close to what they were. It makes me a little sad. I love this company and the idea behind it. Wish Steph would get it together. At least offer more than 2 model shoes. What happenned to the Starbury 1? That was a nice sneak. Wish I could order a pair, or two.

I purchased these shoes strictly for indoor use. I must admit, I was initially impressed with the value. I wore them most days for about one month when the soles came unglued (see other reviews). Aside from that, they still look pretty good. I contacted Starbury via email, and they offered to replace the defective shoes if I shipped them back at my expense - which would be nearly half the original cost of the shoes. I asked if they would pay the return shipping charges and I haven't heard from them again. I won't try them again.

I bought a pair to see if these shoes are really what the press suggests - a rock solid pair of bball shoes at rock bottom prices. They are indeed. The shoes have a nice shiny red finish - the toe box is wide enough for my big feet, but not so wide that my foot slips around. They have good traction and while I've only had them a short time I can tell they are made with quality construction. For the price you cannot find anything better.

I purchased two pairs of Starbury shoes in late January 2008, and wore them almost constantly until April of this year. As I'm hard on shoes, I was impressed, and was happy to find the brand on Amazon, if not the same style, and ordered four pairs. Well, I have worn one pair four times, and the soles of both are falling off! That's really bad when it happens while traveling, but fortunately I had another pair of shoes (non-Starbury) I could wear. As the reviews here are mixed, I'll start wearing the other pair and see what results, but for the moment, this should be a 0 star review.
